For many years, Dave has studied creativity and the creative process. In addition to doing workshops and keynote addresses on creativity, he is one of the "Brain Gang" for Peter Lloyd's Right Brain Works. Dave was an early online "brainstormer" and was a moderator of the original Creativity Forum on the old CompuServe service.

Watizit

Dave has also created Watizit, a free online idea generation tool that uses ambiguous pictures to spur creative thinking. To date, Watizit has been used by hundreds of people around the world to develop ideas for personal development, artistic projects and business problem solving.

Dave has also developed a list of 50 Phrases that Kill Creativity, used in workshops and keynotes, which has since spread to many corners of the web.
